Job Description SummaryOverall target of the positionDrive and coordinate the execution of Shop shift operations with (SQDC)Zero deviation in Safety and Quality. Ensure alignment of different stakeholders to achieve OTD & shop Utilization. Demonstrate appropriate responsible behaviour to guide the team and standard work/DMS Perform the daily shift wise operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line which includes mainly turbine rotor and generator repair and new built and turbine-generator parts. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesOversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees. Typically managing hourly employee populations, contractors, and contingent utilization of resources to achieve the production targetShop controls - shift plans, time booking, maintaining attendance, daily logbook, reporting of production data in the system, manpower planningManage, Organise, monitor production operations as per plan, implement corrective action as necessaryResolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/ with related Departments, Clarify Deviations, give technical guidance to subordinates to ensure quality production meeting Statutory regulations at least time and costDevelop and improve process, foster suggestions from employees to reduce cycle time and costMaintain housekeeping (5S), Guide, monitor and supervise compliance with all safety standard and environment policy and norms (in line with ISO- 14001 and OHSAS- 18001) to ensure safe and healthy working , Guide, motivate, interact with technicians, resolved disputes, initiate disciplinary action if necessary, to ensure smooth production and congenial work cultureBasic understanding of key business drivers uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/ experience and lessons learned are properly fed back to FMEA analysisRequired QualificationsBE/ B. tech/Diploma Mechanical/Production with 5+ years of relevant work experienceKnowledge in turbine and its related components (Rotor, Blade, Casings etc.)Experience in Turbine Rotor and Generator assembly - New build and service Basic Knowledge of Weld repair and Heat treatment processes for turbine parts Repair of rotor and casing which include re-blading, sealing fins replacement, casing machining, Rotor straightening, disc replacement & weld repair of rotorsOversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees.
