DescriptionThe Role We are currently recruiting for a Graphic Designer with video editing experience to join our growing and dynamic business, based in our Mumbai office. This role sits in the Marketing function for the Publishing team at Packt and reporting into the Senior Marketing Manager based in the UK. This Marketing team is responsible for designing and implementing strategies and tactics that will: Serve the technology community by driving awareness and visibility of titles within the community Increase book sales across all of our third-party sales channels, with a distinct focus on Amazon Engage our authors, to encourage them to participate in book promotion and generate a long and fruitful relationship with Packt Continually support our authors, channels and partners with all the Packt print and digital assets they need Develop consistent brand guidelines and campaigns to achieve positive brand sentiment. Develop consistent brand guidelines and campaigns to achieve positive brand sentiment. This role is perfect for a talented graphic designer with a good foundation level of design experience. You must be able to work independently on simultaneous projects. It's essential that the successful candidate has experience in both print and online design. You have the ability to listen carefully to briefs and work independently to deliver briefed objectives, deliver projects from across a wide range of media and work to brand guidelines. A must have is also a natural eye for design and attention to detail to ensure work is created on time and on brief without mistakes. Responsibilities - Graphic Design Overseeing all design projects, from conception to delivery Designing original pieces, infographics and illustrations Maintaining client and internal brand consistency throughout all projects Liaising with editorial, marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met Editing and creating bespoke templates for Marketing and Publishing teams Working on a mixture of online, digital and traditional print projects, including production of web content, social media and print materials Updating promotional materials and catalogues Selecting images used on our book and video covers Checking the final book and video covers created by our internal departments to ensure they are error-free and ready for print Continuously adhering to the brand guidelines Conducting continuous checks of digital and print assets and ensuring that any assets you see that do not comply with brand guidelines are reported immediately. Work closely with the Marketing Coordinators and authors to create and package content for marketing Engage in making, assembling, and polishing the screencasts and recorded content, providing effective and efficient quality control. Edit videos to insert dialogue, captions, subtitles, and sound effects, and arrange course sections into proper sequences. This would mostly involve cutting out dead or messy segments of a video. Make content engaging by using useful presentation features such as transitions, animations, and much more Clear and timely communication with Marketing Coordinators to develop the product as per the product vision Flexible to work on other tasks such as layouts, designing certificates and slide decks Requirements 1-3 years’ experience in graphic design Completed a course, diploma or degree, from academies that offer courses in design or visual arts and video editing or a related field. A bachelor's degree from colleges that offer digital technologies and computers is preferred. Must be highly skilled in digital editing systems and have extensive knowledge of digital audio-visual technology In depth knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Acrobat packages – Illustrator, Photoshop and In-design. Other audio editing and video editing software knowledge is a plus Excellent attention to detail Excellent time management skills Can work independently, proactively and as part of a team A desire to learn how to create/improve required visual content Microsoft Office knowledge - Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to gauge missing elements, in flow of content, visual representation, and overall learning experience. Knowledge of subtitling and transcription will be beneficial Experience in video editing and animation projects Good knowledge of all relevant software needed for editing Experience in using Camtasia Studio, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Captivate, Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere Elements or any similar software used to edit videos, or create online eLearning content would be a plus. Good verbal and written English communication.
