Engineering Program Manager Job SummaryCepheid is looking for an Engineering Program Manager who will be responsible for:-Planning, coordination, tracking, and successful implementation of multiple Cepheid diagnostics application software and instrument projects .-For ensuring projects meet corporate strategies and goals around on-time delivery, budget, product development processes, quality system and regulatory Job Responsibilities: Leads the planning and implementation of multiple Software and instrument engineering development programs, with full responsibility for the project from both business and technical side-by-side with Technical Leads in the planning, coordination, and implementation of Cepheid’s diagnostic application the definition of project and program scope, goals and deliverables. Makes project trade-off decisions within the boundaries of the approved as the communication focal point for the project to the Senior coordination with the Cepheid diagnostics application software Team, utilize best-practice Agile methodologies (like Scrum) and processes, including issue identification and resolution, change control, and risk planning and mitigationAct as the scrum maser to facilitate sprint events to achieve specific goalsManage and report project and program resource allocationsDevelop manage and report project and program budgetsDevelop, document, and manage full scale project plans, including task lists, schedules, and resource requirementsDay-to-day management of cross-functional Core Teams including team members from departments such as Biology, Engineering Development, Sustaining Engineering, Marketing, Regulatory, Clinical Affairs, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and othersManage and lead globally dispersed teams through multiple communication levels and mediums throughout the organization as well as external collaboratorsCreate and maintain Design History Files, Meeting Artifacts, Risk Management Files, and other ISO/FDA required project and product documentationMonitor and report regularly on progress of the project to all stakeholders as well as to executive managementPresent regular reports defining project progress, problems and solutions to immediate and executive managementImplement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve successful project outputsAssess results of projects and incorporate improvements into the overall product development and project management processes. Contribute to continuous improvement projects for project documentation, templates, and Product Life Cycle (PLC) processesRequired Knowledge - Skills - and Abilities: Education and ExperienceMaster’s degree in Software Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level is required. Bachelor’s Engineering degree in Computer Science??≥ 5 years of direct work experience in Medical software application or other complex software project management capacity is required, with experience in all aspects of product development and sustaining projects; planning, execution and product launch. Candidates with a background in medical industry will be preferredDemonstrable track record of (1) managing complex delivering successful global product launches (2) managing and/or architecting diagnostics or medical software solution and providing business and governance recommendationsKnowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management is requiredProficiency in MS Office applications (Project, Power Point, Visio, Outlook, Excel) is requiredKey competenciesPreferred Qualifications: Experience in Quality System Regulations (QSR) 21 CFR 820; Design Control: ISO 13485:2003, FDA regulations is requiredPMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a highly preferredFast learner able to quickly become adept at using the Danaher Business System tool setDemonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage team by influence in a matrix the functions of product development and builds partnerships between functions and cultures to accomplish the goals of the projectSuperior interpersonal skills with demonstrated competencies in team building, influencing and negotiation, and conflict communication skills, both written and verbal.
