Overview The Automation Lead is an integral member of the Smart Cloud Automation team and key to ensuring on time and quality project the other team members and management, the individual will work on a variety of projects including design, development and testing of automation solutions for Intergraph Smart applications. The primary focus of the role will be in working to help automate Smart Cloud application configurations, as well as automation of application upgrade tasks and maintenance this will involve a mixture of Azure Automation , PowerShell, Puppet Enterprise and Puppet experience of Puppet, while not essential, is a distinct advantage. Responsibilities Develop and Test Puppet Modules to support application configuration and ad-hoc tasks Develop scripts as required using PowerShell or Ruby, in accordance with best practices. Assist other team members with application architecture and configuration issues or questions. Liaise with infrastructure engineers and application developers on a variety of automation workflows Support the wider Smart Cloud team by completing manual application change requests if necessary. Attend regular project, team and customer meetings where required. Participate in R&D efforts to improve methods, toolsets and processes used by the automation team. Produce documentation outlining the application configuration and troubleshoot code throughout its lifecycle from Development to Production Works under limited supervision. Â Acquires specific expertise in automation design and development approaches and best practices. Â Recommends and makes changes and enhancements to improve the quality of solutions and processes. Â Writes and implements efficient code. Â Writes clear and concise documentation. Â Works with more experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues and perform unit testing. Â Engages with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet customer needs. Â Demonstrates advanced knowledge in a variety of the fieldâs concepts, practices, and procedures. Â Relies on moderate experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Support and troubleshoot code throughout its lifecycle from Development to Test/Integration and into Production Coach team members in development methodologies and best practices. Educational Qualifications Masters or Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology, from a reputed institute, with excellent academic records. Skills Required Overall experience should be 8 to 10 years and relevant experience should be 4 to 7 years Â Previous experience in an Application Support, Services or Development role Â Experience with PowerShell and/or Ruby scripting languages. Â Experience with Azure Services . Â Experience with Puppet Configuration Management. Â Experience with IaC (Arm Templates and Terraform). Â Experience with CI-CD Pipelines. Â Experience with Azure DevOps. Â Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems. Â Knowledge of application packaging technologies (. Chocolatey, NuGet). Customer focused with desire for excellent service delivery. Ability to self-manage and to deliver projects to agreed deadlines. Flexible working hours. Excellent problem-solving skills: Ability to analyse data and make decisions based upon findings. Positive outlook and attitude Ability to report succinctly with an eye for detail and accuracy. Â Ability to fit in to a team yet also work alone with minimum supervision. Excellent People Skills - Demonstrated ability to work with both technical and non- technical individuals, both in gathering information and communicating direction and status.
