Role DescriptionYou will be responsible for all the engineering activities within SVD Team, this position the main responsibilities are:Lead and take part in all the design activities from concept to industrialization for Special Vehicles products and deliver technical solutions agreed with our customersDrive the technical dialogue with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Suppliers/PartnersBased on product and customer knowledge provide input to the design of truck architecture of SVD projects which mostly aligns to vehicle platform decided by platform management team. Propose the optimum architecture based on balanced requirements for each application within each product projectSupport architecture activities in SVD PMRs as per different gate requirementsPropose suitable deviations in platform based on need and anchor and agree with relevant stakeholders to meet SVD project requirementsKnowledge of development processes for all kinds of structural components and sheet metal designs (Chassis & CAB structures)Knowledge of development processes for all kinds of routing media for . wiring harnesses, pneumatic routing and clippingContribute to the product-related risk registerContribute in continuous improvement activitiesDevelop and share acquired competence and provide technical adviceParticipate in business development and innovationKnowledge on CAD tools like Creo/Catia is mandatoryKnowledge on Volvo tools and processes will be an advantageEducation, Experience, Knowledge and SkillsFor success in this role we expect you to have a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field of study as well as work experience in the relevant field for a minimum of 9 years. You have specifically strong knowledge of design components related to the chassis, cab, electrical and wiring area. Previous experience from Volvo Trucks will be considered as a are curious, creative and thrive to take the lead with courage and integrity and feel comfortable working autonomously.
