The Emerging Technology team is tasked with applying industry best practices to the design, development, and deployment world-class software products. We are looking to hire individuals with experience with software development and test engineering in clinical and research settings, and who can help us solve the next wave of technical challenges using the latest cloud-based, big-data, and rich analytics tool sets. Roles and Responsibility: • Hands-on management of a small team of highly skilled software developers, ensuring great execution of Agile/SCRUM processes and repeatable, predictable, and high-quality delivery of software solutions • Participate in and oversee the design and development of new software and/or extensive software revisions. • Work with the product owner to define technical requirements and priorities then create user-stories, designs, and development tasks to be delegated to the team. Oversee successful conclusion to sprints and releases. • Represent the team in cross-organizational development forums as well as customer requirements gathering and software validation and training sessions • Rely on extensive experience and judgment to understand complex problems and resolve them efficiently, Use prior knowledge and experience to provide functional and technical support and leadership to colleagues • Participate in training and orienting new software engineers as they join the team Skills and Experience Required : • Hands on coding experience, and if need be, can jump into the code and help team find the RCAs/Fixes. Ability to work directly with developers and product managers to conceptualize, build, test and understand products Ability to outline product development roadmaps to verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of product architecture. Strong Estimation, Planning(Resource, Capacity), Agile and Scrum methodology skills Experience in interacting with cross-functional teams including Program, Product, Business. Strong Communication skills, both verbal, written. Experience in application architecture design • 10+ years of experience designing and building desktop as well as browser-based DotNet applications • 3+ experience leading a small development team in an Agile/SCRUM setting, with demonstrable skills in project/task estimation, delegation, and management. • Experience working with geographically distributed team • A highly motivated fast learner who can self-start and “figure out what needs figuring out” • BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering. Technical Expertise: Person for this role should have expertise level of exposure to .Net stack. Deep understanding of C , .NetFramework, .NetCore, JQuery, Web API, WCF, TFS, Design Patterns, REST, NUnit is must. Exposure to Angular JS, HTML 5 and QA automation tools example Selenium, Test Complete, UTF is desirable Experience doing CI/CD, automation, devops, etc in AWS Preferred Qualifications (nice to have) Experience with Amazon Web Services or other leading cloud deployment platforms and services Experience with building applications for life sciences, health care At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 80,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
